I'm alive.

Hey! Well, I survived my first day here in Seoul. Actually, it was more like a couple hours! I didn't arrive at my hotel until 2 am on Wed morning. By the time I woke up and stumbled out of bed, it was time to go to my school and meet everyone. I think I am going to really enjoy teaching here. I think there is 6 other teachers from the US at my school and there is also a couple Korean teachers that I will be working with. The students found it hilarious that my name is Megan because there is a fish here called Maggie. ha.  Note to self, do not name a child Megan in Korea. The school is very small and is on the second floor of a building, which is next door to my hotel. I will be staying at the hotel until Sunday. I feel like I am staying in a box. It barely fits my luggage in the room. Sweet.

I have not done any exploring yet. Yesterday consisted of hanging out at the school and then going back to bed. I am so thankful for my tuna and peanut butter that I brought and having a 7eleven across the street. Today, I hope to explore a bit and will have orientation at my school.

Gotta Go! Hopefully I will have more interesting stuff to report!

p.s. The city is kinda smelly.

Welcome to the Other Side of the World!

Hello! I made it! I am extremely exhausted after my long day of traveling. I had a 12.5 hour flight to Tokyo and a 2.5 hour flight to Seoul. I was met by my boss at the airport and she was really nice. I had to take a 1.5 hour bus ride and then a taxi to my hotel. I'm so tired I can't see straight. Good night.

South Korea or bust...

Hello Everyone! Well, most of you know that I will be venturing to Seoul, South Korea on Monday for a year to teach English. Sadly, I will not be entering North Korea and becoming a communist! I know your disappointed! :) I am really excited for my new adventure, but I am starting to get nervous. Some of you know, I am not a professional chopstick user and that worries me a tad! However, I will be bringing a couple utensils with me. Did I mention that I am not a light packer and I somehow have to pack my life into 2 (or 3) suitcases? ha. It has been a hectic few weeks with visiting Southern Illinois (Love you all), packing and moving from Denver (Love you all), tears, unpacking, packing again, and those awful goodbyes. I'm so thankful that I have been able to see most of you or chat with you! Although it has been COMPLETELY overwhelming, I have faith that this is the right thing for me and everything will fall into place. Best of all, I am living my dreams and that feels wonderful! Thank you all for your words of wisdom, support, friendship, smiles, hugs, laughs, phone calls, and love. I am so blessed to have you all in my life! I will be blogging while I am there and using skype. Please remember, I am not a professional writer. There will be plenty of grammatical errors and you will all have to deal with that. :) I will post a blog as soon as I get internet in Korea. Keep in touch!

I hope you all live your dreams, just as I am living mine.

Love,

Megan
